no text about elections, courtesy, or time management.  Instead I will whine about working too hard, not playing enough with my toys, and discuss my pets and why they don't like each other.  Oh, and a dating situation that freaks me out somewhat.

Oh, and also:  Verisign wants to charge you $350 dollars for a one year 40 bit certificate and $900 for a 128 bit certificate!  WTF!.  Oh, but with the $900 one you get 2 day express delivery.

Oh goody, my work week starts tomorrow....

Several reader questions:  What are your top 5 RSS feeds?  Fill in the blank (was nicely flattered with one of these on saturday, if I do say so myself.):  "Wow, you look way to good to be ___"
nanowrimo:  Y'all are going to get sick of hearing about this right quick I'd imagine.  Total word count:  0.  No updates, none whatsoever.
Don't even bother reading the body.  Just answer the questions in the Intro copy.  Trust me, you'll be better off for it

Things I have learned at work...
I am now an expert on blowing out a root partition with Amanda!

Also in the news...  I've signed up for Nanowrimo, no trick 'er treaters came by despite my living two blocks from an elementary school, most of the programs/utilities I want for my iBook cost money and I don't have any, I have no time to read, Carrot soup is not tasty, William Shatner's album is unbelievably funny, my cat's breath smells like cat food.  Oh, and a couple of os x questions.

#husi sure is quiet...

Apple link o' the day: A multiple workspace manager like all them real fancy lunix WMs.

A coworker was seen to be wearing a Baby vs. Rhino shirt on Friday.  Other notable geek wear sighted have been phrack shirts, defcon sweatshirts, and various pieces of bedeviled shirtwear, as well as the fairly ubiquitous Sun, Cisco, etc. polo shirts.

Well, I waited for almost a week after they were released...  That's an improvement over my instant gratification history with electronics, believe me.  I took a little jaunt down to here, and bought me one of them new shiny iBooks.  This diary might contain some non-apple related items, but I wouldn't count on it...  Oh, and I now have a 667 MHz TiG4 (Titanium G4) for sale.  (Is it wrong that I pronounce that 'tigga' in my head?)

Apple users of HuSi, I beg advice of you!

Print Story The Official Barmecidal Takeover Plan: Mark I
Diary

-The plan to take over at $SmallColo comes together.  Abundant step planning things inside.

-What I'm reading

-Anything other stray thoughts that interrupt the takeover planning (perhaps reading, weather, pets, gambling, music, you get the idea).

Poll on The Plan.  Oh yes, and my ambition, realistic or no, seems to last about four days max before I get back to 'aw fuggit.'

Working life

I am now gainfully employed! The hours ain't too good, it's over an hour away during rush hour, and the pay sucks. But, it's in the field I want to be in, it will be an excellent learning-on-the-job type of job, they subsidize certification/merit-badges, they just doubled their capacity, so new hirings and promotions will be rampant for the next six months or so. More details inside and a poll on what I should be getting paid.
